Last fall, we – your beloved College of Liberal Studies – awarded 16 students $19,980 in scholarships as part of the Osher Reentry Scholarship Program. Students who have experienced an interruption in their education of at least five years, are between the ages of 25 and 50, and who are enrolled in the college’s on-site or hybrid classes working toward their first undergraduate degrees are eligible.
One Osher scholarship recipient said, “I started taking classes when I was 24 years old. I had to quit a few semesters later because of lack of financial support, and I was a single mother who had to work as many hours as my employer would give me just to survive. Now I have been given the opportunity to go back to school, and I am trying desperately to finish what I started years ago. Financial aid and scholarships are helping me to fulfill a dream that I have had all my life.”
